3ct Rare Backslope Pink Specimen

The element of chromium is rare in Kashmir but more common than documented.  A fully pink body color sapphire from Kashmir India is rare.  The flourescense is medium strong with long wave UV light (365nm).  

This 3ct pink sapphire was polished on four sides for observation.  The tourmaline crystals and kaolin on the surface along with broad band silk zoning and the silky texture sleepiness are featured in more stones found at the back slope Kashmir mine.
