King
Solomon, one of the most rich, wise and powerful men to ever
walk this earth wrote that, if a human's life measure should
include his goals and ambitions as ends in themselves apart
from God, his life is futile and meaningless. In other words
wealth, wisdom, and works are all in vain without acknowledging
the Creator who has made these things possible. As the writer
of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon goes on to suggest, however,
that we live our lives looking through the lens of reality.
We should
therefore accept God's gifts and humbly enjoy them. We should
not misinterpret this to say, "Eat, drink, and be merry
for tomorrow we die!" rather entrust God with the things
we have rather than complain about the things we do not have.

We
at KashmirBlue are using our wisdom and wealth to support,
manage and provide the underprivileged of Kashmir an opportunity
to live and enjoy some of the blessings that we may take
for granted. We believe that all people created in the
image of God are the real gems worth giving our lives
for. Our primary mission, therefore, is to show compassion
to the families of Kashmir through relief and development
projects.
One of our projects -- The Kashmir Kids -- is helping
families to pay for their children's education. We provide
funding to pay for the children's school tuition, uniforms,
books and extra-curricular activities. We are beginning
to focus this project toward orphan children. |
|
| |
| These
children have gained a new respect for the value of education
and are enthusiastic about attending school. All aspects of
this project are managed by our in-country native staff members
and the schools administration. If you are interested in child
sponsorship please write KashmirBlue and we will link you with
a child of your choosing. |

Sadly, and contrary to wide spread belief, the horrible
disease of leprosy has not been eradicated from our world;
it is painfully present in Kashmir. Through our second
project, we provide assistance to a colony of lepers and
their families. The people of this colony have been isolated
for over 100 years. Since India's independence from British
Colonial rule, the current government has wanted little
to do with the leper peoples. Fueled by myth and fables
surrounding the disease known as Hansens, the people were
abandoned to die a slow and painful death. We have been
working with this colony for 3 years and have provided
each member a measure of hope. . In the near future, we
hope to team with Project Cure of the United States to
bring a 40-foot cargo container of desperately needed
medical supplies. |

To join
with us in raising the funds needed for this $300,000 shipment,
or for more information regarding this project, please contact
KashmirBlue. Project Cure's assessment team should be visiting
Kashmir in late spring and if plans go accordingly our shipment
is scheduled for early fall of 2006.
Our other projects are scattered through out the Vale of Kashmir
and south into Jammu. We have coordinated and taught several
6-month-long tailoring courses and English classes, and we
held events to hand out food, medicine and clothing. In the
future we hope to grow our micro-economic business loan program
and provide direct medical relief to victims of war.
We truly
enjoy caring for those in need and transforming the lives
of the poor. Serving those less fortunate is the least we
could do to show our appreciation to the people of Kashmir
and return what has been given to us. We believe it is important
to recognize the plight of the poor and tackle the root cause.
Giving these people opportunity and seeing lasting results
is much more inspiring than selling a thousand dollar stone.
The people of Kashmir are the real gems that we mine, and
they will continue to see our support
